Oatmeal or porridge

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar or honey
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: ½ tsp cinnamon or ¼ cup raisins

Preparation

  • Cook oats: In a pot, bring water or milk to a boil. Stir in oats and salt.
  • Simmer: Reduce heat and cook 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until creamy.
  • Sweeten: Stir in sugar or honey, cinnamon, and raisins (if using).
  • Serve: Serve warm, topped with extra milk or fruit if desired.
