Kac kac (Somali snack)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting

Preparation:

  • Make dough: Mix flour, baking powder, and sugar. Whisk egg and milk separately, then combine to form a soft dough.
  • Shape: Roll dough into small balls (about 1 inch).
  • Fry: Heat oil to 350°F. Fry balls 2-3 minutes, turning until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve: Dust with powdered sugar and serve as a snack.
