- Lecturer at Arba Minch University and Addis Ababa Science and Technology University
- Deputy head of the urban and housing bureau of Ethiopia’s Oromia regional state
- Director-general of Ethiopia’s Oromial regional state road authority
- Head of Ethiopia’s Oromia regional state water and energy resource development bureau
Habtamu Itefa holds degrees from Arba Minch University and Stuttgart University.
